I agree that downloading it from the developer site is much faster. However keeping it updated will be a more manual process rather then the app store just keeping it updated

I think you can hit Cmd + R in update screen to refresh apps that need to update.

Great video!!! I need help from you Sir. I updated my MacBook Pro 2017 OS from Monterey to Ventura (now on 13.1) which required me to update my xCode to xCode 14 (now on 14.2) as well. However since I made the update to xCode 14.xx, my pc get stocked and restart after a while of launching the xCode 14. I cannot build iOS app anymore. Please any solution to this issue? Thanks

I womder if Xcode download on multiple computers is one of the things that is helped by Content Caching. / After a brew install, a "rehash" may work instead of Terminal relaunch.

I download from the website (2nd way). Using this I can install the app multiple times if I wipe my machine or use another one. Also I can install more than one Xcode version. The third way was unnecessarily complicated.

Alex, great thing you're doing right there, thank you fot that. I have a 16" M1 Pro machine with 32 GB of ram and I love it, ....while its on Monterey. Ventura has a bunch of problems related to graphics, there are some weird blur effects in Launchpads edges or the animation when switching virtual desktops (spaces) is choppy as hell. Is 13.2 any better in this regard? because last time I was on 13.1 I couldn't use it one day and downgraded to Monterey. Ventura ruined this machine, I went to Apple Store and there's nothing wrong with the hardware.

I have a question is it possible to use an old macbook for xcode? Because they say you need to be on the latest version OS
for you to be able to code xcode and use it to send your app to the app store. Because xcode does not run on older systems.

When downloading the Xcode update from the App Store, it usually downloads something, tries to install it, and then starts downloading something else again. I know that it takes at least an hour to install on my Mac because it has an 8th gen Intel processor and the internet is 30 Mbps down.

You should have a clipboard manager, so you don't need to copy URLs and take them again :) If you use Alfred, it's included.

Hi Alex, it’s unrelated, anyhow could you give your opinion about using open core legacy Monterey on iMac with using on this software Apple register account, I mean would it be different if I’d open another account for it and it would be used as family sharing, just if you could just share your opinion about it the final call would be definitely on my, thanks

Ok you sold me, I'll be doing this on my new M2 Max MBP coming in a week or so. Also you can watch the progress of the app store install via the console, just fyi.

Hi Alex! Could you help me out? I downloaded Xcode from the dev page but when I go to the App Store it doesn't recognise it, I mean I have to download it again from the App Store.

Something I found, if you hover your mouse over the circle inside of the AppStore you’ll get to see the current download MB/s (still can’t see a time though)
