Crysis 2 - DX9 vs. DX11 Comparison + High Res Texture Pack | HD

Crytek released their High Res Texture Pack + DX11 features today so I figured I'd do a simple comparison between DX9 + DX11. Here's the result. Obviously the editing could've been better but I wanted it out as soon as possible. I hope you enjoy.

I can see a slight difference, that is saying something with only 720p and youtube compression.

The high-rez textures I would think looks better if the texture is next to your nose because from normal distance they both look basically the same like in this vid. Anyways, nice video showing both.

I have to say that I was impressed with what they accomplished with just the DX9 version. With the DX11 patch they accomplished the feat of slamming performance of high end computers yet again- only with minimal graphics quality increase from a feature set that was tacked on.

In 1080p there is a huge difference, i played the game on both normal and high res texture pack using an LG E2441V 24inch LED monitor, its actually quite spectacular...

Damn what a difference.
Have not bought the game yet, but bought a 5850 2 months ago.
So looking forward to go to Gamestop tomorrow for a Crysis 2 purchase.

@FSTK Crysis 2 was built with Dx11 in mind but was released later to ensure fluidity...

@AcidBong: I know, and I'm sorry about that. I was actually in a rush to get this out for people to see as soon as possible. But with the help of newly released Editor I can make a much better comparison using cameras (which makes it much more precise).

Only difference that I noticed was the Reflection on water in last shot, elsewhere just slight sharpness, negligible unless you equip a sniper or scoped gun and inspect the cracks and leaves! Glad I don't installed 64-bit yet! saved me 1.7 gbs...

Awesome video, I downloaded both packs today and it looks amazing, I'm not getting the best FPS I could though due to my single XFX 6870 :S do you think having 2 in crossfire would be beneficial? I'm on a tight budget at the moment so a higher end card is probably something for the future, thanks

teh patch is for those who zoom in on every object to see whether is high rex or not. doesn't matter that much
