You actually missed a really funny scripted sequence here. When you try to go up that side path, the first time, you get the small rock slide you saw. The second time, you get a slightly larger rock slide. After you run back up the third time, an Indiana Jones-style boulder starts rolling after you. It's honestly one of the funnier sequences I've found.

She's insane, murderous and ambitious, a very dangerous combination yet, somehow, Tabitha is an NPC that moves me. She's lonely and lost in a very honest way, for me she never felt forced as is so often the case when someone tries to "humanize" a monster in a game. And a very good job was done in voicing her meeting revived Rhonda.

12:03 I always thought that "Battle Cattle" were Brahmin, due to the one quest in Novac to protect cattle from the "Chupacabra with an automatic weapon" and that maybe its not just an isolated case of crazy. Maybe the case is actually that tabitha confuses the Brahmin and the Legion into one thing and thus is why she talks about the NCR riding Battle Cattle.
