If you can split it with friends so you get the full benefit of every faction, then the value is incedible

For someone collecting and playing for 30yrs, this is just gonna be fun to have multiple factions to play here and there for fun. Looking forward to the U.S release! =)

Don't forget to factor in the shipping costs, It effects the price pretty substantially.

Having a ton of half-armies and major variety is exactly what I want out of the hobby. The ability to hand a friend an entire combat patrol and let people learn to play a new faction, or even the entire game is like being able to share joy with someone.

I think if you looked at it differently, if you spent £40 - 50 a month, at 3rd party retailers, on specific models you want for a faction or two factions, whilst looking at like xmas boxes or starter kits as well, then over 18 months you'd have two very nice armies of stuff you want. I kind of feel by going for NINE factions this will put a lot of people off.

From a hobbying perspective, getting a slow trickle of new minis to try and complete before the next delivery sounds entertaining.
BUT when I thought about the fact you can get 2 complete 2000point armies for the price of the magazine run, I kind of decided it's not a great idea. Choose your 2 favorite factions and spend £40 a month, and you'll end up much happier by the end of 80 weeks.

In my playgroup of 4 players we play 7 out of the 9 factions currently. This feels like a definite win

I did almost a full run of imperium and included the binders and premium sets. I think it was a pretty decent deal. Anything you dont want or need you can resell. I liked the factions bettwr for Imperium. But this doesnt look bad either.

If you pick the faction you like and spend the same amount of money that you would on the magazine sub you will have a much better army and models you actually want.

This seems best for a couple of friends to share. If you and a buddy or two split it up it could be a ton of fun.

Im working towards doing commissions at some point. I often feel i dont have enough experience (just space marines, gk and csm in my current collection). Im really interested in this series because of the additional painting experience ill gain

Ebay is about to be saturated with Terminator Captains and Winged Primes.

Seems like it might be good to split a subscription with friends if you know ppl who play a good mix of these factions.
Let's see if Australia actually gets the option of the premium packages this time. We missed out on it for Imperium Magazine :/

I did a video on Stormbringer. In there, I detail how the ORDER things are done in is a huge influence on it. Are the Patrols done in order? Are they broken into pieces? Do they stack a ton of the best goodies in the first few issues?

Stormbringer's opening issues are pretty stacked, with a Krondys at just box 5 waiting for those who buy Premium. By issue 18, you have the entirely of the Mid-range Sigmar starter, the Generals from the small Starter, a heavy unit for each army, a pair of Underworlds Warbands, rare Underworlds terrain, 10 paints, the brushes, nippers, and glue to assemble it all...and Krondys. For about $250? I mean, then you can go ahead and bail, you've made out like a bandit.

I also 100% guarantee the good kits will sell out fast. You can still find Imperium and even Conquest magazines with the paints in them. No one wanted those.

Surely the fact that many of these combat patrols are likely to be changed by GW over the course of this magazine is something to consider. Orks codex are released in spring and if following GW current trend you may be getting an old combat patrol (which tbf could be better given how they have updated the admech and necrons). Something to consider regardless!

Any idea on how to get in on this or when it starts? I would very much appreciate

Something to take into account is the combat patrol mod : small armies with custom rules to balance them.
GW might be trying to push more people toward it.
The extra miniature are here to tempt us toward 1000 points armies, because patrol+1/2 model isn't really playable on its own.

From my personnal point of view, what I prefer is dipping into factions lore while painting them, more than having a horde of a less limited number of factions, so I might go for it.

I feel like I'm gonna try and pick up individual issues and focus on the character units to build up my collection. The Brutalis Dread is tempting but I'd doubt the first 20 issues would give me everything I'd want and need.

Compared to Imperium (which I got) one advantage here is that it's much easier to sell the combat patrols you don't want that the single random kits.
