F150 Back Window Leak Quick Fix 2004-2008 (possibly other trucks)

Does your back window leak in your F150? After trying 2 new 3rd brake lights I determined it was the seal on the window that was leaking. I didn’t feel like paying over $100 to pull the window and reseal it so I tried out this foam seal I have used on house windows. Well after 1 year I still don’t have any leaks. So I figured I would share this quick easy and cheap fix to you.

Welp! Just when I thought I didn't have to make a weekly trip to the depot...I'm definitely going to try this before removing and resealing the back window!

Just got an 05 f150 supercrew. Figured I'd do this as a precaution since I don't want to have to worry about leaks in the future. I used 1/2 inch and worked great

I have a 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. I saw the leak while I was washing it. Local Auto glass company wanted
$250 and a $25 deposit on a spare window, just in case the original window breaks. The new window and labor would cost $400. That window has to fall out before I would replace it. So, thanks I’m buying the foam .

Worked great. I used 3/8" which was a little tight. 1/4" would probably be best. 2005 model and thanks!

My '07 F-150 rear window leaked. Local auto glass shops wanted $150 to reseal. $3.25 at Lowe's and problem solved. Thanks for the tip.

Wish I had found this video a year ago when I decided to use clear tube caulk to fix my rear window leak. Squeeze tube caulk worked, but this would have been quicker and less of a mess.

Good man! Thanks for this. I suspect the same issue but will be resealing the third brake light also. I'm off to buy that foam rope!

I have a buddy who does auto glass and I just learned that these can be repaired yourself. These are sealed with butyl that never actually sets up so you can remove the T-Bolts from the inside and push your window out (probably need help). Mine has the rear slider so this fix does not work for me because the trim is different. Hes going to help me fix it soon.

As long as it doesn't hold moister over time like the foam 3rd. Brake light gasket does. Because in the cold winter months below freezing .. that could expand the moister and break the back window. Something to think about. I'm going to try Flowable Silicone first.

Did u just stuff it into the crevice or did u caulk it plus stuffing it in?

I'm thinking about spraying flex seal on it to make it more powerful.
