The fact that this joint could be dropped in any house DJ's set almost 40 years after release and fit perfectly speaks volumes as to its importance in house music's history.

Almost 30 years later and this song, with its smooth and continuous background keyboard kept lively by a high top still gets me every time. I got a little emotional listening now. All time classic House Track. I'm glad I was around when House Music took over the world.

An absolute masterpiece. It defines deep house. 37 years on and this track would still get a crowd groovin hard. Dark room, heavy speakers. Those were the days!

The fact that this track came out in 1986 is mind blowing. Larry Heard was so far ahead of his time. An absolute master at his craft

I looked quite young and it bit fresh faced even when I was 18/19 so I used to have to go to nightclubs early in order to get in and avoid disappointment. So, I was sitting in a empty night club with a mate and he went off to get the drinks (another issue I had) and this track started up, the smoke machine filled the dance floor with smoke and as it settled I notice the silhouettes of two guys, on beat and getting down to this, relentless, in sync....I said to myself "I want to dance like that" and you know what? with the help of this track and others I did, this track is an open invitation that just says forget everything and move....so simple, pure, now dance!!!

It’s a blessing this tune was made it encapsulates everything house music is about. Love peace and unity to all that are still playing this. Original house music has no age or colour it’s for us all, green, blue, black, and white. Love kg.

In the beginning, there was Jack, and Jack had a groove.
And from this groove came the groove of all grooves.
And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldy declared,
"Let there be House!" and house music was born.
"I am, you see,
I am the creator, and this is my house!
And in my house there is only house music.
But, I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes our house and our house music!"

And, you see, no one man owns house because house music is a universal language, spoken and understood by all.
You see, house is a feeling that no one can understand really unless you're deep into the vibe of house.
House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body.
And, as I told you before, this is our house and our house music.
And in every house, you understand, there is a keeper.
And, in this house, the keeper is Jack.
Now some of you who might wonder,
"Who is Jack, and what is it that Jack does?"
Jack is the one who gives you the power to jack your body!
Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake.
Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm.
Jack is the one who learns you how to walk your body.
Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house.
You may be black, you may be white; you may be Jew or Gentile. It don't make a difference in our house.
And this is fresh!
