DJI Mic Mini is a new ultra-compact wireless microphone that works with iPhone, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux devices over USB-C, as well as most cameras using it's 1/4" TRRS microphone cable. But is it better than Hollyland Lark M2? Let's find out.

Omg...whoever thinks the Larks sound better need to clean your ears lol the Larks are much older tech and every single person reviewing them sound hollow and a metallic echo to their voice..the minis are way more rich, full and no added artifacts and metallic echo...hands down no comparison the DJI are newer and sound better

I would go with DJI sound is similar but DJI is more rounded especially with memo app and DJI products like pocket 3 and action 📷 plus M2 doesn’t have wind sock, and build quality is better on mic mini. Plus DJI is known for updating firmware which highly doubt that will happen with M2.

I definitely think it depends on your voice. The other reviews I listened to I preferred the DJI. I do think the Lark M2 is a brighter sound but I feel like the DJI sounds a little cleaner

Absolutely loving the DJI Mic Mini! The sound quality is top-notch, and it's perfect for capturing crisp audio on the go. Big props to DJI for their audio ecosystem

The DJI sounds slightly muffled. The Lark 2 is clearer and crisper to my ears. I have the DJI Mic 2 and really like it. Great sound. I usually record locally and sync up with the audio recorded to the camera. I imagine the DJI Mini will sound better with some post manipulation.

Great video, would love to have you speak louder to see what happens when the DJI Mic Mini kicks in the "anti-clipping" feature. I have both mics as well, but have had a lot of clipping on the Hollyland Lark M2. I honestly bought the DJI MIC MINI just to get rid of the clipping and the second "safety" channel will come in nicely as well. Love to see you review that feature if you can. Great video!

Hmm it’s tough to my ears. The Hollyland sound brighter but more hollow/roomy. The DJI sounds more isolated and maybe a bit warmer. I think I like the DJI tone better.

I purchased the Lark M2, but I feel the noise cancellation is not working as shown in the video. Is my unit defective?

Please respond

It was difficult to hear a difference -- both sounded really good.

I bought the Lark v. 1 some 1-2 years ago. For that one, it was not possible to get the sound into a PC with stereo sound -- both channels were mixed outside of the PC, and entered the PC as two identical channels. This was a bummer, because I could not separate the sound from the two mics in post and balance the sound.

I seem to have seen that the Lark 2 has the same limitation. (The Lark 2 has a USB interface to PC; the Lark 1 required a separate adapter.)

Question: does the DJI support separate channels for each mic when it is available in the PC?

[My use case: I occasionally arrange some MS Teams seminars which I record, with some speakers in US via Teams, and some in my auditorium in Europe. I want to use one mic myself - as seminar leader, and give the other mic to the speaker, who could then walk around in front of the audience. Problem: one of the speakers is extremely soft-spoken, and I need to balance the sound from the two mics. The soft-spoken-ness is so extreme that I actually would have liked to be able to record the voice locally on the transmitter in Float 32...]

I have both but you can’t beat the convenience off not having to use a receiver when using this with Pocket 3, Action 5 Pro, or Action 4. For me both of them are good!

But if you have an Osmo device. It’s a no brainer.

No need to compare the M2 to the Mini, cuz the M2 has a major design flaw that I'd pointed out.
I bought one myself and on first unboxing, the metal plate at the back of the M2 has already fallen out due to the powerful suction of the magnet.
The metal plate only secured by some kind of hot glue like glue. Nothing lock the metal plate in place, so eventually the plate will fall out from the M2.
Well, u can use some AA glue to put it back but you won't be able to tell when will it happened again. You may lost your M2 if it drops without you even notice.
The Mic Mini on the other hand has a clip on and the magnet is sticking to it. The clip is pretty solid without any moving part so no chance you'll lost your mic.

Thanks for your video man, it's so stupid that people post comparisons on day 1, mark em as "paid promotions" and say, well I wanted to compare and the brand said ok... Like which effin brand is gonna pay if they aren't sure they're getting +ve coverage? Thanks for your transparency and giving me clarity... Just bought the mic mini... Coming from a mic 2, not liking it much... Loved the mic 2... Was wondering if the m2 would be better... Turns out yes, but not by much... Guess I'll wait for the next one 😊

I’m goin with the M2 for your voice. But in other similar comparisons The DJI MM was preferable. I think it depends on what best fits your vocal tone. I will soon be making a comparison video between the M2 (currently use) and the RODE Micro Mini. I’m hoping I prefer the latter over the former. 👍🏼😎👍🏼

I am listening to your voice using airpods max and sony 1000XM5. And hollyland lark m2 definitely sounds crisp and dji mic mini sounds muffled. If you're saying both are at 0 gain. Then Hollyland hand down so much clearer.
BUT if it's ease of use and carry them around, I like the DJI mic mini instead. So I will buy a DJI mic mini despite the sound quality being a bit muffled.
