Varberg Kallbadhuset

Показать описание
Varberg's kallbadhus was built in 1903 in oriental style and stands on stilts in the sea (Kattegatt) at Strandpromenaden in Varberg. Here you can swim in different men's and women's sections, both equipped with a sauna.
Since breakwaters were built from the northwest corner of the fortress and Klöven, Getterön, the cold bath house is located within the harbor area.
The current cold bath house is the third to be built, since two earlier - the oldest of them from 1866 - were spoiled by the severe west coast storms. The current bathhouse has stood since 1903. After the exterior was renovated to its original condition in the 1990s, the cold bathhouse was reopened in 1996.
Adjacent to Kallbadhuset and Strandpromenaden is the small sandy beach that goes by the name "Barnens badstrand".
This is also where Varberg's beach promenade begins, which rounds the fortress and then passes the Fortress Terrace, and then continues along the beaches to Apelviken. The sightseeing train Kustpilen runs this route back and forth during the summer.
