New Tank From Belarus - Should Ukraine be Afraid?

Belarus recently unveiled their latest modernization of the T-72 tank, called T-72BM2. Many people were intrigued by this tank because it appears to have Relikt Explosive Reactive Armor mounted on the front of the tank, something which Russian T-72 tank upgrades do not have, at least not in active service. But this tank might not be what it first appears to be.

2:45 You haven't seen anything yet Red, the media in my country (Vietnam) even described Vietnamese T-55M3 tanks as being comparable to modern new generation tanks.

Belarus: "We need more modern tanks!"

Also Belarus: *slightly upgrades their existing tanks*

It's still an upgraded T-72. I doubt that Belarus has the budget and without a foreign customer funding its development I can't imagine many will be upgraded.

Belarus: Poland has those fancy PT-91s!? Hah We now have something like that!
Poland: We like them but we made them in the 90s and are starting to phase them ou....
Belarus: MODERN TONK!

No. Considering Belarus has a military budget just below that of Panama, and considerably below Angola - I think its safe to say we won't see many great military technological developments from Belarus

Hey Red, a little video suggestion.
Could you consider giving us a few words about the stuff that Poland is getting nowadays?

T72 BM makes sense. Bowel Movement is what any tanker will be having in those death traps.

Any tank is a 'good tank' when the opponent does not have any..

Just install T90M Proryv 3 turrets on all those T72B hulls along with Relikt and Arena M and call it a day already

The T-72 just wants to retire peacefully, let them rest lol

Better turret aerodynamics for higher Jack-in-box effect

But can it beat me in a turret flying contest?

Would an ERA "cope cage" work to defend against top attack munitions? Something that might actually improve a T-72 upgrade

3:48 Never seen a turret flung so high before. I'm impressed.

Nice video with much important information. But, I think the main comparison here should be how the T-72BM2 compares to the main tank in Belarus service, that is the T-72B. Belarus don't have the capacity to do massive upgrades by themselves, so if they are able to do some upgrades to their old fleet of T-72B tanks, that would improve their situation.
