When I started a few months ago , I had no idea of what you need to get started in your new hobby of metal detecting, so today I am going to start at the beginning and show you the basic equipment I've acquired over the last couple of months.
What do you need to start metal detecting?
What metal detector accessories do you need to start metal detecting? Just a detector and a permission? Well after around 5 months, I've already amassed a ton of gear.

The experts say you will at least need these 9 metal detecting tools for a successful treasure hunt:

Metal Detector
Headphones
Rechargeable Battery
PinPointer
Shovel
Trowel
Sand Scoop
Storage Bag
Metal Detector Bag but I think the list goes on, with lights for when it gets dark, they forgot gloves and then there is the back up equipment!

Had the arm cup break on mine twice..now it’s reinforced with a bit of guttering glued on the inside of it..watching what you’ve done reminds me how I started out 40 years ago lol..Thames looks great. Not that I’ve done that considering I’m very close to it. You can end up with lots of Gear mate..Enjoy..

I just bought my 1st metal detector yesterday its not even out of the box because I don't have everything I need yet. I bought the xp deus 2 the xp ws6 master headphones and mi-6 pointer. I need a decent shovel for now do you have a recommendation for a shovel and beach scoop

Very expensive hobby starting off im new to this i have to spend €2000 on equipment all in hope i like it lol
