SHTF DIESEL ENGINES

The diesel engine can burn all kinds of fuels that most would not eaven think of it was invented before OIL. The fuel can keep for years and for day to day life they can save you alot of money hence the huge demand for older diesel powered cars. A fully mechanical diesel engine requires no electrical power to run making them EMP or SOLAR FLARE PROOF.

1984 vw rabbit diesel. Still regret selling it but that thing did 47 MPG and never let me down. I now have three diesels, a Kubota three pot 905, a Toyota 2.8 in my van and a lister cs for stationary power gen. That sucker will burn just about anything.
Great vid, love it. My next purchase will be a russel newbery or gardner if I can find one.

I had no Idea a diesel would burn the things you mentioned. You are right about availability of diesel vehicles. Darn near impossible to find a generator that runs on diesel for a decent price also.

I wish a vehicle manufacturer would make a small pick up truck with a diesel engine like the old Chevy LUV or Toyota.  They were just the right size and the right engines for long term use.  AHH! the old days.  Great video. Thanks.

Informative as always. Please consider running through the fuels for the VW when you do that video. I wasn't sure if you can use ATF and other fuels in the VW as well as your Yanmars. We always here about conversion kits but since your expertise is on diesels it would greatly be appreciated.

I am an A&P so I get hundreds of gallons of fuel from the airport. we average about 5gal off every tank everyday on our 737's. My Yanmar tractor eats it up, around the farm. I would really be interested in learning about your generator exhaust silencer? very cool set-up. Right now my back-up generator is outside in an enclosure, but I have been thinking about moving it to the basement, for security and ease of operation. thank you for your videos... your new channel is coming along very well.

the guy next door runs too 97 5cyl vw transporter vans and a 94 1.9 td jetta on used fry oil he has an extra tank in the back for veg oil a hose within a hose to run veg oil in the inside hose and hot coolant in the outside one
then too transfer valves to switch the suply and return with a delay on return so veg oil doesn't dilute the diesel he starts and stops it on diesel and switches it to veg oil on the road if he forgets to switch it wont start on cold vegetable oil in the winter

Is that generator running at 1800 rpm, it sounded quite outside how is it in your main living area, that's a goal of mine to get a diesel generator. you have a nice set-up.

Im not sure if u still get on youtube but i have a question about the atf as fuel. Do u have to dilute it with kerosene or diesel or can u run it straight without burning the IP up? Im asking cause im a diesel mechanic and i know nothing compared to u as far as alternative fuels go. I dont want to ruin a perfectly good engine or recomend someone use something as a fuel even in a grid down situation. Thanks and i used to watch ur videos all the time bud. Havent been on this side of youtube for a while but hoping to get back into "prepping" soon. Things went down hill and lost everything i had stocked and locked away due to helping the wrong people and being robbed of thousands of dollars worth of goods.
