The Magi, a priestly caste within ancient Zoroastrianism, played a central role in preserving and practicing the mystical aspects of the faith. As interpreters of the teachings of Zarathustra (Zoroaster), they were custodians of esoteric knowledge, including the cosmic struggle between Ahura Mazda (the force of light and order) and Angra Mainyu (the force of chaos). The Magi conducted intricate rituals involving fire, a sacred symbol of divine presence and purification, and employed chants, invocations, and astrology to align with cosmic principles. They also served as mediators between the material and spiritual realms, guiding individuals toward moral and spiritual perfection. The legacy of the Magi extends beyond Zoroastrianism, influencing Western mystical traditions, including Hermeticism and esoteric interpretations of the Three Wise Men in Christian nativity narratives.

It was not Ahura Mazda against Angra Mainyu it was Spenta Mainyu against Angra Mainyu, this is the distinction between dualism and monotheistic dualism. My journey into Freemasonry primarily started by my research on Zoroastrianism which a lot of work was done by famous freemason Albert Pike and saw the faith as the true wisdom religion.
