Evolution of Shin Megami Tensei Games #shorts

Before any of the Persona games, there was Shin Megami Tensei, a JRPG series that was itself spun off from the larger Megami Tensei series. And with the long-awaited Shin Megami Tensei V coming out later this year on the Nintendo Switch, now seems like a good time for fans to revisit the various games that make up the series. In this short video, we take a look back at the various stages of the evolution of those games. SHIN Megami Tensei is actually the 3rd title in the franchise. First there was "Digital Devil Story Megami Tensei" on the Famicom, then Megami Tensei 2, also on Famicom, then there's was a remaster of both on Super Famicom called Kyuyaku Megami Tensei, which gave the two Famicom games the Mario All-Stars treatment, and then ATLUS made and released Shin Megami Tensei on the 16-bit system.

God they need to remake 1 & 2, they were so fucking out there in terms of story events and atmosphere/music, if they added the modern system and maybe a little more story and characters itd easily be the greatest in the series

i first got into smt thanks to the persona games. i heard a lot about p5, but, since i hadn't the console to play it, i went with persona 1 and 2, later, while playing 3 and 4, i realised i wasn't a fan of persona, but of smt. i'm doing them rn, got 1 and 2 down, about to start 3 and finishing 5, i'll keep 4 as last. i love the series now :)

Played SMT 3 and was devastated by the fact that there are no similar games(( Like, I understand that hiring monsters and turn counts is a games unique feature, and I would be mad if someone steals it. But at the same time... Damn the gameplay mechanics was so good in Nocturne. It's just sad that I can't experience this first time again. I don't have Switch so I can't play SMT 5 but I will buy Vengeance.
