DOCWOB - We built 9 Factory style 2 Stroke Motocross Bikes for VMXdN!
Показать описание
Well, it's August, and the best weekend of the year is just around the corner, VMXdN Foxhill 2023! From the phone calls, emails, and messages we have received, it must be the most anticipated motocross of the year.
The bikes are finally built, and all nine are cracking. In this video, we look at them all. I would say I don’t have a favourite, but I would be lying – I will always be a Suzuki man!
First up must be the 2002 Yamaha YZ250 with the ever-so-heavy number 1 plate! It will be ridden in anger by AMA SX and National Champion Zach Osborne as part of the American Squad in the VMXdN International Team Race. Zach rode for the Yamaha of Troy squad, so building a bike in those graphics seemed fitting. This one has a twisted development cylinder and an FMF pipe & silencer, so it’s sure to rip.
Next, we have the number two machine, a Kawasaki KX500 we built for Tyler Bowers, who has been drafted to replace Ryan Villopoto in Team USA. This bike is a full DocWob-built 1994 model with Ohlins forks, a full JSV exhaust system and plenty of DocWob trickery, it’s a little special as we replicated ‘The Unit’, which was Tyler’s own build that we supplied parts for.
The 2001 Kawasaki KX250 Pro Circuit race bike we have Built for Mike Brown has to be the trickiest thing we have built to date as it features not only a hand-ported cylinder from Mitch Payton at Pro Circuit and the pipe and silencer are made exclusively to run this motor, add in some DocWob titanium bling. She’s a beaut; that sounds awesome. See what you think when we start her up in the video. Mike has ridden her, and he’s pretty happy!
Then there is the 2001 Kawasaki KX250 that we built for Tommy Searle, carrying the number four plate. This one is all decked out in Chevvy Trucks – Ricky Carmichael colours, as Tommy is on Team GB and running the number 4 plate – in keeping! Also, hand ported the main man Mitch at Pro Circuit. This one has some special Showa forks. Again, the pipe and cylinder have been made especially for the engine and some of the finest titanium – DocWob style.
Is this the prettiest one of them all? I think so! 2003 Honda CR250 was built for Mike Larocco to ride in the Legends Parade, although now he will have the choice of the Honda or Suzuki. It’s pretty trick with Marzochi forks, x-trig clamps & bar mounts, HRC foot pegs & hangers, talon wheels, GMX radiators, pro circuit silencer, handmade cone, JSV exhaust and, of course, a full complement of our own DocWob trickery and finished off with team factory connection graphic package and genuine one industry seat cover to add that little bit of ethnicity.
Finally, is the 1996 Suzuki RM250 when we started the build Leon Capps was going to race it at VMXdN Foxhill but due to a nasty shoulder injury that’s not the case, but we ploughed on with the build and then made it a Mike Larocco replica and bolted on loads of works parts for the fun of it! Go big or go home! LaRocco now has the choice of two beautiful two-strokes to ride on the parade lap.
So, nine bike builds are done and ready for the most anticipated event of the year! If you haven’t already got your tickets, be quick as online ticket sales close at 10 pm on Wednesday, August 23rd. Tickets are available on the gate, subject to availability.
