Yarn Review: Premier Bloom Chunky

I have a quick yarn review of Premier’s Bloom Chunky. I Love this yarn, there is just one thing I don’t like about it and that is the knots. For some it’s not big deal, and for others it is quite off putting. Either way, this yarn does make a stunning pattern with beautiful colors mixed together. Hope you like the review. Please let me know if you have any questions that I can try and answer for you. Thank you for watching.

I just completed the Pretty Posy Baby Blanket and newborn hat. They turned out beautifully! HOWEVER, I purchased 3 balls of chunky Bloom for this project and encountered some knots and actual breaks in the yarn. One ball was so messed up that half of it formed a bird's nest when I started to knit with it. I pulled all three from the center and didn't notice until my blanket was finished that the last ball was so crummy because it was wound the wrong way. I could tell by the placement of the flowers when I saw it from as short distance. I bought the yarn at Herrschner's for $4.99 a ball. I wrote a review explaining this and they didn't publish it. I think this yarn is very pretty but I also think there are issues with it. I probably won't use it again.

Thanks for the heads up about the knots! Especially with the pattern with this yarn, one needs to be cognizant where they are in the yarn and continue with the color transitions!!!

Thank you for your review on the Bloom yarn. I just purchased three skeins to make a baby blanket and I am a little hesitant to get started. Did you have to do anything special when starting or tying on another skein to make sure the pattern would work up correctly?

Beautiful yarn. What size needles and cast on number for blanket. Sorry you get knots. I've used 6 skeins and no knots. Hope that continues

Your blanket is beautiful!

I just purchased this yarn bc it looked so interesting, and I found a knot right in the beginning of the skein. I don't like knotted yarn but, will give it a try. I'll knit a scarf.

I did 20 rows and had to cut the yarn bc of the knot. I found it hard to match the pattern and hide the tails but was able to. I'm using clover bamboo needles and this yarn is sliding all over the place. I'll finish the scarf but won't buy this yarn again. Pretty pattern though.

Your blanket is beautiful. The yarn color choice is pretty. Knots brother my knit flow as well. You are making me want some of this yarn😅

Hi Sunni I love your review and as for having knots in the yarn is the worse and I haven't tried this yarn yet but I'm hoping when I get to one and have to cut it out and tie the yarn back together if it would mess up the pattern . I'm going to try and knit a baby blanket as I usually crochet but not sure the pattern would look as pretty if I do that and I love how your blanket came out .
And I have to tell you I love your hair I've mentioned it before but this is the first time I've seen it down and it's so pretty and you are lucky that you look amazing anyway you fix your hair.
Have a great weekend ❤

Good review. SC stands for single crochet. 😂

I'm an old fashioned knitter who winds skeins into balls before knitting, so if there are knots, they're easier to deal with before I start knitting. I'm also 70, retired and patient, and with a lot of time on my hands, so I don't mind taking the time to undo a few knots. Mind you, when I had three little kids running around and very little time to knit, I had less patience and no time for yarn with knots or frizzies or ravels. It was hard enough to carve out the time it took to count rows or stitches.

Yes, knots are really annoying! No one like to have to deal with this type of yarn management. 😦. I find that you get what you pay for in most circumstances. Thanks for the review. Take care. 💕

Do you have a crocheted baby sweater for this yarn?

I can't stand knots, blah. That is one that bothers me the most. I had a skein with 4 knots, and that bothered me so much. I have to cut the knot then crochet a new strand and it just bothers me. The yarn is beautiful, I just love the look of the flowers showing and your blanket is BEAUTIFUL. You did an awesome job on your blanket. Here is some crochet terminology
sc = Single crochet
hdc = Half double crochet
dc = Double crochet
tr = Treble crochet
Thank you for saying the crochet side because some people don't talk about both knit and crochet. Thank you Sunni!

Isnt a lot of pattern wasted when you do long tail cast-on?
Im kind of a beginner knitter but doing well.
I'm not clear what the 1 and 2 arrows mean on their label as far as where to start.
I dont know where to start and how to tell if the pattern will work.
Also, how can their pattern strip and work for a blanket? But also for a little hat??

Just out of curiosity what happens to the floral pattern if you don't follow their gauge ? I can't seem to get the correct gauge.

How do you add a new skein and maintain the correct sequence of the color pattern ??
