I’ve been taking landscape photos for about 12 years now. I brought a printer about 6 months ago and yes what a difference it makes

I made the decision three years ago to invest in the canon PIXMA pro 100 printer. And I was truly impressed with how good it printed I decided to start selling prints for my portraits that I take. It brings in almost half of my income that I make with photography. In the beginning of 2023 I will be investing into the Canon Prograf 1000. I would like to print a little bit bigger than a 13 x 19 for my client. But I will say it is so rewarding to see your photo as a finished product. A lot of people just want the digital image to post online. But when you get to see those photos you take on photo paper it just brings a smile to my face. Now granted it’s not all smooth sailing with printing your own work. It’s more than just ink in photo paper. You have to color calibrate your monitor and have it set up with your printer. It’s dealing with photos that didn’t come out bright enough or you just don’t like the colors. You now have to buy photo sleeves and envelopes to put your images in for your clients to deliver to them. But I still prefer printing my own work than sending it out. But I will say I have not had one paper jam or photo with skip lines or any funky stuff that can happen to a PRINT out of the canon PIXMA pro 100. But it’s time to upgrade but I still plan on keeping it also.

I just started printing my images 3 weeks ago and I discovered that my images arent as good as they ought to be when printed at A4 size. I found that many of the foregrounds in my images weren't really adding anything, or even worse were a bit messy. I'll be much more careful with my compositions from now. You are right too, it is a real joy to hold a print of an image that you've taken in your hands.

I have been teaching photography for many years and printing photos is something that I like to tell my students to do. Since I teach both darkroom and digital photography, I found a way to print digital files with an enlarger, to me that is the best way to print digital files.

I used to print from film many moons ago, but then digital came along and I got lazy.
Luckily I’ve recently found my way again 🤣 and I’ve started printing again. Let’s hope this video helps others to hold that print in their hands 😀
