This instrument also features a speaker key on the bow of the bell. This speaker helps low end response for an overall bigger low end sound. The Buffet Crampon 1180 Student Bass Clarinet also includes a lightweight Geeenline case with backpack straps.

I just bought and received the model 1180. Far from a "student" model. I have owned and played the Buffet 1183 and Selmer Prestige. From the standpoints of playability and key placement, this model wins over the other two. Beautiful sound and appearance. Polished wood rather than dyed wood was the way to go. Just beautiful. Better silver plating than that of the 1183. They are made in Germany. They should name it an "intermediate" model.
