Inclusive Sports Kits Film

DEMAND strive to help people with disabilities in all aspects of their lives. We believe in creating an environment where young people with disabilities can engage in sport alongside their peers. Demand have worked for many years to develop a range of equipment for the sport Boccia. Similar to bowls, Boccia can be played by people with a wide range of physical abilities, players can either throw if they are able, or use a ramp to propel the ball onto the court. Our Boccia Lite ramp is especially popular with schools and clubs where young people can learn the sport, engaging with their peers.

Our accessible sport kit contains 3 Boccia Lite ramps, which our skilled craftsmen manufacture by hand, along with a range of specially sourced sports equipment designed to help disabled individuals participate in exciting sports activities. The kits we have put together cost £500 each for DEMAND to provide.

DEMAND has been able to source Boccia balls at a fantastic rate to offer in our accessible sports kit, accompanied by our very own ball stand useful when playing competitively. A set of wooden skittles (also included) provides a more relaxed alternative to the often tense game of Boccia, and a great way to encourage targeting and accuracy in shots.

The kit contains a set of eye shades and audible sports balls, we have found this provides an excellent opportunity for able bodied and disabled persons to play together, even working to level the playing field! The challenge is increased for able bodied players as they have to use their hearing to locate the ball when wearing the eye shades. The audible football and basketball can be used to introduce many different sports such as goalball, along with warm up games and skill training.
