Supermarkets have been capable of doing this food at these prices for a long time but chose not to but because things have changed they have had to because they know that people will shop around, spot on .

There's been times in my life, when I've been so skint I was reduced to eating a tin of plum tomatoes for my main meal. Pretty sure they cost more than 90p (Co-op was the only shop in my village). I'd have loved the chance of roast beef and gravy at 90p with a bit of mash. You're doing Gods work Mr. Bald Foodie.

Well done gareth. I'm a senior citizen and cannot eat much. Bought two of these and can honestly say a GREAT buy. Had it with veg and roast potatoes and was pleasantly surprised. Just dismayed that other supermarkets cannot match Asda's Just Essentials.

Thanks for this review Gareth. Being an O.A.P. and now sadly living on my own, these reviews of yours have helped me so much and I've learnt a lot as well. Keep up the good work, there are many people in the same situation as myself who benefit from your
channel, reviews and having a laugh. Take care.

ASDA should change the name of the range from "Just Essentials" to "There's nothing wrong with it!" It looks surprisingly decent and at 90p it'd be rude not to give it a whirl 😃

Fellow Cumbrian here Gareth, I'm from Carlisle, been following you for ages now but not commented much before. Thank you so much for your channel, I have covid right now and all your videos have been a much welcomed distraction and given me lots of laughter too. Thank you, I love your comparison videos also 😊

Been getting these for a while now. I put the beef on a baguette with fried onions and grated cheese, air fry for a few minutes and then add the gravy. Great upload Gaz 👍

We used to get the old boil-in-the-bag version of this! Made a decent dinner with chips. Eventually you could do them in the microwave, but it was nearly impossible to pierce the frozen bag, so you'd to take it out of the freezer in advance to let it thaw a bit 😂

Haven't tried this from that range yet but will definitely be picking up a few on the next shop. Cheap, cheerful and looks worth a go 👍

Used to eat these back in the 90s as a wee nipper, nice with chips and bread

Birds eye used to do this a few years ago. I used to love it. Used to be in a pouch which was a bit messy. The tray is a better idea.

I remember having that kind of thing when I was a kid, but I'd forgotten all about it. I can still taste it now! I think I'll have to give it another go after 40 odd years!

I must say... The ingredients in there look quite good. No bs or additives... Good work ASDA, these types of dishes are essential to folk on lower incomes. Add some pots and veg and you've given the kids a decent meal for less than a fiver. Love these types of videos mate, really show how on the pulse you are not just with cost of living, but also genuine decent, solid reviews. Awesome work as always.

Edit. That would be epic in a buttery bap with a touch of mustard....

I'm glad you got the bread and butter out to mop up with Gaz, my wife says I must be the only person in the world that does that.

Looks good and as a butcher not bad meat looks like topside but it is cut very thin but for 90p can't complain....A few baby boiled potatoes some carrots peas mixed in and uve a great dinner and cooked in the microwave will save you a few Bob cos a beef joint will cost at least £1, 50 to £2 to cook in a conventional oven these days so in my opinion it's a no brainer so thumbs up lad another great review and saving the people a few quid keep the good work up
