Teeth Grinding (Bruxism) Symptoms

Hi! I’m Doctor Michael Katsaros with the Washington Center for Dentistry and a question that we’re often asked is, “How do you know if you grind your teeth?”

Well, some people know that they’re grinding their teeth when they hear noise or they have ear aches, back pain, neck pain – those are common signs and symptoms. But there are also cases where patients are unaware and they’ll look to their dentist for the signs and symptoms, and what we’ll notice when we look inside is you might have a fractured tooth, you might have worn cusps, fractured cusps, or you might actually have teeth that are mobile or staining along the gum line because of clenching and grinding. Clenching actually can cause you to lose teeth at the gum-line as well.

i want to know if i have bruxism. i tend to clench my teeth a lot. but i dont grind them. but now my molars are quickly hurting and i dont know why. on the left side of my mouth i cant even chew on it cuz it hurts. same thing with my right witch has one last remaining molar on the bottom left. im worried and my dad does not want me to see other dentists..

I grind my teeth, clench my jaw, and sometimex stop breathing all in my slerp.
I don't want to know how to stop it, i want to know if it can cause IOP.
Is it possible to Elevate eye pressure?
