When it comes to what I eat in a day during pregnancy, I love starting with a little bit of whole fat plain yogurt. Not only is it a great source of protein and healthy fats, but it’s also packed with probiotics, which are so important for gut health! 🦠

Probiotics play a huge role in building a healthy microbiome—which is crucial for both mama and baby. During a vaginal birth, your baby is naturally “seeded” with your microbiome as they pass through the birth canal. That's why having a diverse, healthy gut flora is key!

Here’s how you can support a strong microbiome during pregnancy:
✅ Include probiotic-rich foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, and kombucha
✅ Eat plenty of prebiotic foods like garlic, onions, bananas, and asparagus to nourish those good bacteria
🚫 Avoid antibiotics if possible (unless medically necessary) to help preserve your healthy gut bacteria
