Being a student from jadavpur .. i confirm everything but cons main batata hun : 1) hostel me ragging hota tha hamarey time, , Mainey khud li hai 2) mess bill ata hai bina khaye par jab roti k liye bola jata tha tab Dean hame ye kehta tha ki rice is state food, so do time mess food me rice main nii kha pata tha to food costly ho jata tha 3) non Bengalis ko bahari mana jata hai even professors discriminate and many a times give less marks in practical and theory, so scoring good beacomes challenge for very brilliant students as well 4) engineering sirf CSE or IT branches nii hotey hai baki branches bhi hai jinka waisa kuch bht acha placement nii hai but I was placed in reliance industries with 6 lpa 5) Bengali students were good but most of them were full of So if you face discrimination in a university just on language basis, , i think that's the biggest negative point of any place .... Else if you can deal these drawbacks you can pass out with good brand name because atlast name matters 😀😀😀

Dark truth about jadavpur university which I know as I live nearby :

1) University is good, faculty is good but student politics ruined the University.
2) Students openly smokes, drinks alcohol in campus and what not. Specific shops openly sells janga too.
3) Hardly 10 percentage of students comes to class. Rest busy in students politics.
4) Workshops and Lab rusting. No maintenance.
5) One professor told me that he was called by a student inside the campus for lighter (cigerette). He is a very good chemistry teacher, I used to study chemistry from him during my school days.
6) Parents in our locality doesn't want his son/ daughter to study in this uni because of political and Nessa wala scene.
7) One of my school friend ( topper), he was excellent in studies got chance in JU and ruined his career. He is now full janga man. 😓

8) Few students committed suicide because of ragging. No one dare to say anything as it has political affiliation with various parties.

9) Seats in JU doesn't get full. Now you know the actual reason.

My uncle(maternal) was in jadavpur uni (around 1980s)
His rank was 9 in WbJEE but he chose electronics

Now he lives in San Francisco Bay area, was a CEO of a company until 2021.
Jadavpur > IIT B for West Bengal students.

Everything is better in Jadavpur except it only chooses among Wb students and IIT B chooses among all over India students.
