700 Brands Being Attacked by Phishing | Cyber Protection Operation Center News

The Anti Phishing Working Group (APWG), of which Acronis is a member of, released their Q3 2021 trend report. They blocked 260,642 phishing attacks in July, the highest number ever.
Financial institutions were targeted by 35% of the phishing attacks, crypto currencies by 6% and cloud applications and webmail solutions by 29%.
Attackers are broadening their scope. The number of brands being targeted has increased from 400 in early 2021 to 700 in September. The number of phishing attacks doubled since early 2020. The Acronis Advanced Email Security, powered by Perception Point, blocked 23% more phishing emails in Q3.
The Acronis Advanced Email Security blocks phishing emails and prevents them from reaching the users’ inbox. In addition, the URL filtering in Acronis Cyber Protection blocks any access to malicious websites from the endpoint.
