I'm really trepid about Bioware's statement on how they are aware that players pick two or three companions in Dragon Age games and ignore the rest - and how they gonna force the players into playing with everyone to combat that. Dragon Age is a great franchise with an amazing world, but the companions in all the games are... a mixed bag. DAO is my all time favorite RPG, and every run I play I stick with Morrigan and the dog. I don't care about the rest. Same with 2 (Isabella and Varric) and same with DAI (Cass and Blackwall). If I were FORCED to endure one of Bioware's... "quirky" characters like Sera, I doubt I'd finish the game.

...I just want sexy grimdark shit.

Not really crazy about CC results for those two Rooks but armors looks amazing. I have to point out I was more impressed with reveal trailer Rook, he was such a hot looking dude and was looking better than companions.
I am also agree with you Davrin so far the best looking companion. Also LOL, Neve and her floor tile hat.

Bruh, they HAVE to show the character creator to get me on board for this game. The default Rook looks whack, the companions look whack and silly, the enemies look whack and colorful, and I absolutely do not give a crap about Solas (He was an eternal benchwarmer in my Inquisition run and I wasn't interested in the DLC). If I'm able to play ONE cool character - even if I have to make it myself - then MAYBE I'll risk purchasing this game full price on release.
Because this looks like Gamepass slop quality so far.

I am cautiously excited for this game. Bioware has made some poor missteps recently but I do love the Dragon Age world even if the so of the games have been underwhelming.

At first I didn't like Neve's hat but depending on her personality I think it could work.

I would have preferred a Qunari/Tal-Vasoth companion who was a mage. I think it would be interesting getting their perspective as someone who was from a completely different magical-cultural context. All three Qunari companions we will have gotten are warriors which on the surface makes since they are massive after all. It would be interesting to see another type of fighter. Even rogue would be cool given that the Qunari are deceptively good at espionage or subtlety.

My biggest fear is I hope they don't go too wild with wanting everything to be a big spectacle. Some of the best parts of Dragon Age to me are when it involves the politics and interactions of humans (or humanoids).
