Tiger 16th Hole - 2012 Memorial Tournament

Eldrick makes an incredible chip shot using a 60 degree wedge in the final round on the 16th hole at the 2012 Memorial Tournament to tie for the lead. Tiger went on to win the tournament, and tie Jack Nicklaus for the second most PGA Tour victories with 73 wins in his career.

This shot was the tournament. The circumstances surrounding this shot were just unbelievable. If he hits it short, he doesn't make the green. If he hits it long, it's in the water. If he chips it in, that's the tournament. What an unbelievably sick shot this is.

I am relatively new to golf… this shot was one that I remember seeing on sunday ESPN on the top plays of the week. Needless to say it was #1. This is the year I started my obsession with golf. I remember watching in awe and wondering how the heck can “he make the ball pop straight up?” And then make it in the hole. I wanted to do that, I tried and failed many, many times. Still haven’t had a shot like that go in. But this shot is what I can say lured me into the wonderful, frustrating sport. This shot, the “better than most” putt and the hole in one classic are the most memorable shots I enjoy the most. I view this video a few times a year. Tiger influenced a whole bunch of people into this sport, I am one of them… thanks tiger. 🐐

Tiger reminded us all yesterday of the player he was and the player he can still be when he's on his game. I'm glad I watched the whole round. 16th Tiger bringing back the old Tiger "magic" again. :)
