I've watched a few travel vloggers who have visited Haiti recently. They did not tell their audience while they were in the country, only after they had visited. Broadcasting your live location in a place like Haiti, especially as an internet celebrity, is a guaranteed recipe for disaster. I'm hoping that Arab gets released safely and without any harm, because those cartels are absolutely no joke.

As a Haitian who has Haitian family in Haiti, It has been 3 years since things hit the fan, my parents wanted to go back for vacation they who know how the country has been and who has been through multiple turmoil in the country didn't go but he did. It was his choice, and he seemed that he knew that it may go wrong, so definitely he chose it. Hope he gets home safe.

Don't get duped, he's most likely faking his kidnapping. This same thing has been done already. See the key factor here is that no gang name was said because if he did actually say a gangs name that gang would actually come get him for putting marks on their name, but since its just "a gang" no gangs will take disrespect from him faking boss orders
One of the past times this scam has been done the guy actually said a gangs name, and thats why they actually did go kidnap him and made him apologize publicly. So this guy learned that one big factor of no getting the real gangs involved
