After 30 + years of anal sex (vers, still tight, no medical issues because of years of penetration) and trying various douching methods, it's true that pure H2O is the best. Irritation is a buzz kill with any chemical or enema type douching. Yes, diet is important, and everyone has a different "system." While some guys (or gals) might not need to douche, there may still be residual fecal matter or order, and this can be a turn-off for the top. Some guys dont seem to mind "natural, " but it's a turn-off for me both as a bttm or top. If im not clean, im not relaxed. Additionally, while a bttm, I can feel if something other than lube is in there while having intercourse. I've found that exercising, bike riding, jogging, going out dancing, etc, after douching works great, as long as you've not used too much H20. Then, when ready for sex after, a quick check with lubed fingers or a dildo of comparable size to your partner (if you know) is all that is needed. I've also found pure silicone based lube to be the best for me. Some lube brands have actually been irritating. When i was younger, vaseline was all i had. It worked, and also olive oil for a natural alternative. From my experience, with practice, education, and knowing your body, you can safely have years of anal sex.

It is good that kids in 2024 have resources like this to be well informed.
When I came out in 1977 at the tender age of 22, there was so much I did not know and there was no good resources like this to keep a college boy nice and clean and ready for action.
