Realistic Strings using expression maps in Cubase Pro

Today I show you how to use expression maps to bring strings to life. This is the first of two videos I’ll be posting that should provide some useful ways to maximise your workflow and minimise your RAM footprint so do also check out #8 Lost in Translation – Using Kontakt and Engine 2 to save RAM. These are some of the ways I get more performance out of my machine… and to think I used to run Cubase on an Atari ST!

I also mention Christian Henson’s excellent video blog – brilliant for Logic users but required viewing for any composer in my humble opinion. His video trying to ‘break’ his six year old Apple Mac is a classic, so do click on the link below.

The “Lost in Translation” videos are designed to be standalone hints and tips for home studio users but they will compliment my other “Living with the Qcon ProX” series if you joined the channel because of that. Combining hardware and software can be a frustrating business so if we can help each other out it’ll free us up to do what we really want – make music.

If you’re into like and subscribe then feel free to join in - I’ll certainly be uploading more helpful hints as I come across them. But I’m just a musician like yourselves trying to pass on information so don’t feel compelled to join the channel.

You can use program change to trigger different articulations using instrument banks in Kontakt as well. Nice tutorial btw.

Great video, I doesn't know you could change an instrument on the same expression map. Thanks!
