Very good advice. My mindset for every game is to be me, not him but me. For years I’ve just been a 3 and D type of player nothing wrong with it but I wanted to further develop my game to where I’m not so one dimensional. So I developed a post game since most people make their guards with low strength and to create my own shots. The theater helped big time with that. My goal in theater is not to win but to fine tune my game. I struggle in 1v1 cause I’m slower and everyone runs around me buts ok that’s not what I’m striving for. I’m good in rec/proam but suck in 1v1

This is very reminiscent of an Agent00 vid I seen years ago with 2k20 that changed my perspective of shooting in 2k. Instead of just wasting time looking at jump shot videos and getting mad at it not working the simple advice he had was just keep using it until you get it down perfect. Something as simple as practice and not getting mad that it isn’t going in is the perfect way to go. Great vid and have a good day

Facts, I made a Paul George build and thought I was about to be a superstar on offense until I realized that I'm just Tyeke Evans, changed the looks of my player and everything just to cement that I needed to chill

Like deadass don't even have the prime Tyreke Evans look, I'm talking Puerto Rico Tyreke Evans, just to prove that I can be whatever the team needs and still have fun with it

1v1 theatre is the best thing they ever done for the game. Shi helped me go from a scrub to hof border 😭

I went from playing on a floor spacing slasher to a SF Hybrid Defender and it was the best change I’ve ever made. The game is so much more fun to me now. My productivity went up and so did my Win/Loss

My best advice to people that lack the talent/IQ to play PG or Center is to make a pure lock down build (SF/PF) that has a high enough midrange or three to unlock Tracy McGrady base and just enough finishing to score off of directed cuts to the basket.

I didnt hear you mention this but PGs, you need to understand the ball isnt YOUR baby. Every play doesnt need to end off of your assist. Move the ball unless youre a lethal unguardable player. Slowing the offense because youre assist hunting also destroys the offense.

2. 3s are worth more than 2s. I get it. Go crazy and score how you can. But if you taking 12 dunks and ignoring wide open shooters, you are hurting the offense. The other team is going to get 3s up. And unless yall shut them down, you're putting your team in a low scoring game

3. Put some damn defense on your build. Who cares you average 20 when your matchup scores 25 and forcing folks out of position to save you.

4. You dont have to play games on HOF. Dont do it to yourself. The timing online is different. Go to gatorade to get a feel of how tight the online timing is. Then practice online. I shoot nearly 70% from the field and 3 in the city/theater and i shoot 60% in the rec from both also. I average 15 in the rec and as of the last few days my scoring is actually somewhere around 22.

5. You need to be able to make moving shots to take that next level if being a scorer is your goal.

6. Passing on your build needs to be high enough to at least get bronze dimer 62 passing is the minimum. At 62 passing i average 4 assists and it helps being able to give the ball up once i start getting doubled. On my builds with 87 ish pass i can EASILY get 12 assists.

7 even great scorers run into great defenders. No matter how great i feel i am at scoring, im willing to give the ball up to the open man. A lethal scorer also willing to pass is basically unguardable and a great addition to ANY team.

Great advice in this video. This should one of those videos on the game that you CAN NOT SKIP and have to watch at least once before going into any multiplayer mode 😂

The HOF mycareer bit is bad advice. Don't need these rec randoms shootin on cold zones. Rookie for 5 games to unlock art of shooting, maybe a couple more to finish out hotzones, then retire.

That was the funniest, most honest, passive aggressive video of all time 😂

I use to play point guard in old 2ks and was good at it without the unnecessary dribbling. But since 23 I started playing rec and realised there are a lot of bad and selfish players in the rec when I thought it was just the park. So I made a center that can guard all positions and make the 3 but it’s frustrating because when low iq players don’t want to pass the ball and abuse the match up of a 6’2 guard matched up against a 6’10 center.

Bro its crazy how people dont want to actually practice and learn. This is my first 2k online since 20. Made a build and then met a group willing to take me in and get back up to speed. Scrapped the build and switched to a big. Im fucking loving it. Practiced meter standings and my shot for hours and several key big man moves. Practice makes perfect and now I'm loving the game again

i know someone who has made a point guard the last two 2K’s and he absolutely sucks at the position… but he does it because he wants the ball in mycareer…. smh

i some gave him advice on the type of build to make in order to have success playing within randoms… but he insists on trying to be steph curry.

If there are any new players or players who are trying to get better… please, just create a small forward between 6’7” - 6’10”.
Bring that wingspan as high as possible while keeping an 80 3pt.

prioritize rebounding, max physicals, some perimeter & interior D, 80+ passing, 81+ steal, 80+ block, an 80 3pt and some driving dunk & standing dunk (75 & 45 is ideal).

If you are trying to find friends who play 2k, you have to keep in mind that most groups already have their PG & Center established.. so just create a wing who can do a little bit of everything.. you’ll have a better time

Bro....the 3rd reason made me want to go into random rec, cuss people out, and leave lol the last couple days me and my homie have been playing with others who ALL were trying to do too much! I swear I ask multiple times a day "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKIN AT?!?!?!" Another thing I've noticed is that most people are trying to push the tempo of a game the entire game and they not only do they not understand that you don't always have to play fast and aggressive, but they don't even know how to in the first place. I started slowing down my playstyle and people started just flying by me. They start guarding people where there is no one and I get easy buckets. And I can't stand when someone passes me the ball on a fast break before I get into position. Now for me to get a high percentage shot, it takes more time because I have to catch the ball, which we all know slows you down for some reason, then run to my spot, stop, then shoot. I could take a fade, but those are inconsistent for me. Just wait another second, let me get closer to spot so I can catch and shoot. Would be way more space for me to take the shot and I'd be more stable to take a good looking shot. Position is everything and if people just took the time to pay attention, we'd have a lot more quality games out here.

This years AI is insane. I hate going into rec and matched up with an AI. Its almost always a guaranteed low scoring. And being stuck corner sitting. You help once they turn into Curry. As much as that sucks the worst is having someone quit out in a 1v1 game. This years AI turns into a pissed off MJ with Ben Wallace strength and Curry range. Craziest thing ive ever seen. Every cheese someone can use in the game the AI does. Most maddening thing ever.

I hear no lies in this video. I'm in tears 🤣 . The wings that cut back and fourth on the court multiple times in 1 play kills me. Sit yo ass still sometimes bro
