The farm I have now, my grandpa farmed before me...the neighbors to the south farmed there for years before that, and the neighbors to the north are the family that homesteaded the land and built the barn 130 years ago. Love these types of stories!

It is good that this former farmer got a chance to pass on his stories and experiences to such an open neighbor. I hope that his widow is managing well, at least her two sons live nearby so that helps.

I just got to say. The ending to that video was perfect. Just ducks in a field with happy duck noises as they enjoy the life you give them. Makes my heart warm and want to be on a farm like my cousins use too.

What a story. I hadn't paid attention to the title until your shocking news of Fran in the end. Totally took me by surprise and gave me the chills down the spine. I thought it was just a story about a nice neighbor, but it was actually a story about change of guards, passing of time, a tribute to life fully lived .
