Onviously you can calculate the answers here, but what do you do if the numbers are too big for that? I use base 10 logarithms and estimate.
5^3 = 3 log5 - about 3(.699) - 2.097.
3^5 = 5 log3 - about 5(.477) - 2.385.
So 5^3 is about 10^2.1, and 3^5 is about 10^2.4
The bases are equal, so we can compare the exponents. 3^5 is clearly larger.
