I love the sketched version of the cartoons it really shows how talented the artists are and how long it takes for them to draw and render each frame

This would’ve been the origin of McQueen’s fear of clowns in Cars on the Road, or would’ve been a nice call back if this was left in the movie. I wish Cars 2 kept in line with Cars 1 having it show McQueen becoming more skilled in his movements, and showing Chick Hicks retirement, it could’ve also been a good chance to show off the start of Cal Weathers and Bobby Swift’s careers but, idk if they were even in mind at the time.

I would’ve liked to seen Cars 2 open with the Piston Cup, given it was only mentioned once in the film. Imagine seeing this alternate opening fully animated in the cinema, it definitely would have bought back some vibes from the first movie.

Cars 2 was basically a Mater's Tall Tales movie, so opening with a framing device probably would have been better. I still like the actual opening more.

That deleted scene was awsome. It does make sense why theu had ti take it out cause Cars 2 was just about Spies and racing. And having that scene in the begining would kinda ruin the flow. But maybe around the part when Mcqueen came back and they were fans that would be the perfect place to put it. But hey that’s just my opinion though.

I would say that it would be kind of nice for them to make this scene a reality but what I would have done is remove the clowns and probably would insert a whole convoluted car crash that lightning has to dodge which mater comes in to knock all the cars out of the way and bumps lightning to help him make it over the loop of death
