Join Jake and Riley on their Final Beaver Trapping Adventure of the 2023-2024 Season!

The two take you out on the Connecticut River for their last beaver trapping trip of the season in chilly April 2024. Though spring in New Hampshire can be freezing, they scored a beautiful day on the water! Jake breaks down his expert trap placement, explaining why certain locations and traps work best for river trapping.

Plus, there's a special guest appearance—mother goose, keeping her eggs warm and giving the duo a close encounter with nature! 🐣

As they gear up for the 2024-2025 season, they're already prepping traps, getting permissions signed, and fine-tuning their lures.

Hit that subscribe button and stay tuned for more adventures on the trapline—tight chains! 🦫🎥

This year is the first year I've seen otters in Massachusetts in over 30 years. I've seen 4 in 3 ponds very exciting.

I enjoy watching your videos. I loved trapping back in the 80’s in eastern Massachusetts. Still have a nice otter pelt I sent out to be tanned.

Drowning rods and hagz brackets change the game for kayak trapping for me, just lay them in the boat and go, no blocks or cable to keep track of and lug around!

I don’t trap as I’ve never lived in an area where trapping is possible. Your commentary is succinct, informative and demonstrates your compassion for the sport.

Can you use bags loaded with rocks in lieu of cinder blocks? Great vids… will be in the upper valley next month. Love stick season in NH!

That was interesting about the otter. I didn’t know they were that abundant.
Do you ever use the meat from the beavers? I’ve heard it’s quite good. Especially the tails. But even for dog food or something, since you probably have a ton of it.

Great video! The last check of the year and pulling all the traps is always a day filled with mixed emotions for me. Also… how do you keep your hip boots looking brand new and hole free!?!?

About how much meat do you get from a medium size beaver? I’m looking to move to the NE from AZ and interested in trapping/hunting/fishing up there. I’ve got a nephew in NH that enjoys fishing, but may try getting him if he’s interested in other areas of the great outdoors sportsmanship.

Jake, I enjoy watching your videos! I am sorry to have to ask this in an open forum but I could not find a way to send a private message. What are those pants you are wearing in this video? I am looking for some good wool pants and it looks like that is what you often have on in your videos. Thank you for any help.
