Refreshingly impressive interview by Bjerg. The interviewer barely had to ask any questions.

The day when you are surprised that a 58 kg mountain specialist “only” takes 2nd place on a relatively flat and long TT behind a TT specialist is the day you know the other GC riders in the grand tours have a problem.

Perfect pacing plan from Mikkel. This is definitely his breakthrough! Hope he can be a contendor in the world championships this year.

I wouldn't call it a shock upset. Sure Jonas Vingegaard was the top favorite for the stage. But Mikkel Bjerg was still among the favorites for the stage.

6:32 Very impressive tt performance from Bernal given he's on a road bike with his gilet and jersey unzipped.

1:51 looks more like an aero bid-off😂

Not a TT course that favored Jonas being such a light rider at 60kg. There was a lot of mild but long downhill in the second section that suited heavier riders like Mikkel (78kg) who could freewheel a lot more than light riders who had to pedal constantly and save energy so then he could send it on the last false flat.
So for Jonas to end up second at only 12 sec back is pretty good.

I'm surprised by how good Fred Wright was. 3rd place with the Bahrain tt set up.

I was actually thinking of Lanterne Rouge when Mikkel Bjerg looked to take the win. You and Benji have often talked about Bjerg in recent years, although he never made it to the podiums - before stage 4 at Dauphiné in 2023.

3x U23 TT World champion. It was a matter of time, before he got his first big pro win. He did well today. Not really a SHOCK UPSET as the titel says imo.

Great summary! Loved this comment from Mikkel, "I just thought about my wife and powered it home!" 🤣🤣🤣

Very pleased to see Bjerg win! Happy to see Cavagna on the podium. Some surprises.
Thanks, LR.

Finally total underestimated got his
First win!🇩🇰 Meaning of his last name
Bjerg= Mounting hope it helps tomorrow. Vingegaard admitted he started to fast, and died towards the end. Treat for a Dane 1&2 on a time trial
😜🔝❤️🇩🇰

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but even though EF has a fast TT setup Carapaz looks slow on it. It's just not set up right for him. The Tempor helmet is fastest when you tuck you head and shrug the shoulders, but Carapaz just looked like he couldn't hold the right position. Maybe they have him set up too aggressive and he can't hold the position over a long TT?
