Trump Tariffs: Europe Readies Ahead of Announcement

US President Donald Trump’s team is finalizing the plans for sweeping tariffs ahead of a Rose Garden event scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, people familiar with the discussions said. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the European Union will use a broad range of options to retaliate against the US if Trump follows through on his threat to impose so-called reciprocal tariffs on the bloc. Bloomberg's Oliver Crook reports.

Isolationism has never worked. Great Depression was either caused, or fueled, by the Smoot Hawley Tariff Act. It caused retaliation and forming of trade agreements that excluded US. Back then, farmers were the main consideration for protection with tariffs, instead they were the ones to get hurt the worst.
Sound familiar? It wont be as bad this time, banks are arguably much more resilient now. But it will hurt, everyone
