I like the the fact the boat is self-righting. It also has a jet system, that doesn't get caught up in weeds like a prop does.. PERFECT for pulling a tow rope. Also, the ceramic bearing means I NEVER have to grease this thing! The adjustable nozzle gives me great control over how the boat controls itself in the water - and the onboard POWERFUL Bilge Pump means I dont have to go swimming for this boat very often! A perfect water-sport boat for deep and shallow water.

I know, I know.. Im "playing with dolls" or whatever you want to say.. HEY, THEY ARE ACTION FIGURES (hands on hips).. Lol! I cant pull an empty inner tube around..

What can I say?! I had a vision of inner-tubing with an action figure behind a jet boat.. and I make a show about the radio control hobby on YouTube. Seems to go hand in hand if you ask me! hah!

Okay...this one had never crossed my mind...so fun to watch Aaron! Leave it to you to come up with another unique and fun way to use a Thrasher!

Lovin it. Brings back old memories. My dad called tubing legalized child abuse. And we keep coming back for more! Put a loop or band around the tube and tie the tow rope to that. First tube I ever got towed on was a semi truck tube with an old fall protection belt wrapped around it and rope tied to that. Get your victim laying face down on tube and head forward to help with balance.

I remember seeing a water skiing squirrel behind an rc boat but this is pretty awesome too!

My dad and I built one when I was a teenager. Put a open flap at the bottom. It will help the water get out and help with control. Awesome Video

You asked for more suggestions? I have an important one. The rear of the inner tube is rounded, which pulls water upward as the tube is drawn forward. Have you noticed that all fast boats have a straight up transom, while slower sailboat hulls are rounded at the rear? Pulling the water upward has the same effect as pulling the rear of the tube downward, into the water, causing tremendous resistance.. So, how do you fix that? You need to flatten the rear underside of the tube so that the water skims away from underneath instead of trying to curl upward.
I have been enamored with the Thrasher ever since version 1. It's such a well engineered boat. I even contacted Scott to try to buy one of their jet drives. If you ever get tired of the Thrasher, Aaron, you know where to send it, dude ;-) Thanks for sharing your day with us.

If you look at an actual tubing tube. The tow point is about of just below the centerline of the tube with a smooth bottom.

LOVE THE IDEA! Good execution of this.

I say this in the most loving and respectful way, but once again, what am I watching? Why am I watching this? Why am I enjoying this?

Now you have to do a skier somehow! I bet if you raised the attachment point on the boat, you could lower it on the tube!

Lay him on his belly, screen/mesh bottom, and get the rope out of the water.. make a little pole mount on the back of the boat. 🤙🏻 super cool idea I’m deff gonna try this!

The tether is usually on the front edge in same spot you have it attached on inside, if I remember correctly. This is super cool man

Flip the inner tube inside out so the stem is sticking out towards the boat and then tie the string around the stem and make the string a little bit longer and tape the bottom of the inner tube to make it flat so no water gets in the middle. Love the videos!!

Try making a small tripod for the rear hatch on the boat to tie the tow rope to too get it out of the water / prop (jet) wash, then make a two point bridal for the tube to attach the rope at the center point of the tube have your guys hands zip tied to handles and have him sit in the bottom of the tube to lower his c.o.g. My two cents. Hope it’s helpful.

To make it more stable, being it's top heavy. Get a piece of thin wood, metal, even a screwdriver and put it under the tube. At the end of whatever you put under it, put an extra weight. Kinda like the long stabilizer on a sailboat under the hull. The weight would be at the end of that stabilizer. The longer the rod/stick/pole you use, the more stable it will be.

Mr Medic Sir! i am not a scale RC boating guru BUT i have done a TON of river running in inner tubes around my neck of the woods, the pacific north west washington state... its part of our annual spring summer activities...
so i watched the whole thing because i always do... and you asked for ideas to make this set up ore stable... i would totally use those two zip ties to run the "tow rope" under ... run the rope under the ties, on the OUTSIDE or boatside of the tube. make a loop tie the line to itself in a triangle shape so your pulling from the front edges and not the back half where the guy is holding the line. thats causing you to nose dive the way its set now, and it wont be pulling from the top as you can push the loop higher or lower on the tube to adjust the fronts angle of contact with the wake of the boat and a bit longer line. i wish i could add a picture in this chat, but if you look up purpose made riding tubes youll see the pull point in the front of the tube... using your zip ties as two points going to one "the tow line" in a triangle is how they set up water ski ropes. you can then add a short linewrapped around the tube for the rider to hold the handle but its now cosmetic instead of the pull point. loving all the vids you post, and youtube gold is better and bigger every episode looking forward to loading wa... er kings!

Anything that makes me or others smile is awesome. As long as you are having fun, that's the main thing. Good Job RC SPARKS 💯

That is an awesome idea! What you need to do is take the boat side of the rope and secure it to the top hatch locking knob (the silver thumb screw) this will get the rope out of the water, so no drag, the rope will then be even with the top of the tube, and in the gopro it will look even more realistic as the thumb screw looks like a standard tow point on a ski boat.

I’d try a longer rope. Would get him off the wake and bring his nose down possibly

Love the idea. Just need to workout the kinks. First off the last run is promising. I would tape an old CD to stiffen the bottom of tube, leave a gap at back to let any water in the tube out. Next is the balance of rider needs to be hunched over the tube so it will get on plane. The fluid dynamics force is holding tube to the water from the tubing curve.
The last is to lengthen rope back out of the pumps Jetstream spray, this is one place that 1:1 to small scale work in the same way.

Looking forward to MORE Videos on this tubing setup.
