I agree that the McDonalds bacon and egg muffin tastes better than the hungry jacks. To me, the, it's mostly the bacon. The maccas bacon has the slight edge over hungry jacks, I think it's to do with their suppliers curing methods. Different level of saltiness.
In part (minor part) the maccas cheese also tastes better than Hungry Jacks.

Fun fact, back in 2013 and 2014, Hungry Jacks and McDonalds were selling breakfast muffins against each other like they were going to war. Both were selling bacon and egg and sausage and egg muffins for $2 each, then they went up to $2.50 and eventually went back to full price.

When they were $2, I was buying 5 for breakfast just for me 🤣

Hi Michelle. Firstly I never buy a Macca's or HJ's breakfast menu item on its own. Way to pricey. I print off the HJ's coupons so I can get a BnE muffin, hash brown and a small coffee for $4.95 But McMisers don't have coupons, just app crap. I will say that HJ's is better for size and taste over Macca's. What makes them even better is a sachet or 2 of ketchup, or ask for mayo when ordering. Many years ago I had a Macca's breakfast thing, I'd order a plain muffin, a Vegemite serve and a hash brown and make my own Vegemite hash brown muffin. It was so yummy. Now I make this at home, much cheaper. Nice review today comparing Macca's and HJ's BnE breakfast menu muffins.. Cheers. Keep up the good work keeping the bad food down.

I haven’t read any of the other comments but I think they have different sauces.
So I prefer the Maccas bacon and egg over Hungrys.

Maccas ones are 1000× better. But as of now 2023 they are roughly $6.50 each. Which l think is a huge rip off. When l was a kid you could get them for $2 each. But l find it's now WAY cheaper to make them yourself.

Buy a 6 pack of woollies muffins for $3, a 24 pack of slice cheese for $5 and a 1kg bacon for $10. Should cost you like $18 for all those ingredients.

So you can make 6 of them for $18 and have tons of bacon and cheese slices left over to make more when you buy more muffins.

But if you buy 6 of Maccas muffins at $6.50 each it qill cost you almost $40.

So it's half the price making them yourself at home. And if you DONT butter the muffins they taste almost exactly the same.

What l do is cook the muffins in the toaster. Then cook the bacon and when it's almost cooked put a slice of cheese on top so it melts. Then when it's completely melted take it off and put on the muffin. And cook the egg until it's hard on both sides like Maccas does and DONT add butter. And that's it. WAY cheaper than Maccas overpriced ones. Works out at about $2-3 each, as opposed to MacDonald's $6.50 each lol

Top comparative work there Absolute and I too have been shocked at the price creep on these basic breakfast menu items... yeah, they do taste different but enjoyable in their own way as I only get them when well hung

Keep your eyes on the HJ'S and Macca's apps for deals. Last week I got 2 bacon and egg muffins on the HJ'S App for $5. Great video and comparisons Michelle 👍

Hj's brekkie in general is a bit tacky compared to McDs. But the burgers are better at Hj's 😁

McDonald’s is better however they’re both extremely overpriced. So I tend to stay clear from these fast food outlets. I can make like 10 muffins for under $10.

I agree the maccas one is better the hungry jacks muffin was the worst experience for me the bacon was half cooked and egg tasted sloppy my rating is 0/10 disgustingly bad 🤢🤮

I think the muffins they use make most of the difference. The HJ one seems denser and not as nice. And you're lucky if it gets properly toasted. McDonald's always better.
