P163F after loading a tune Fix!!! 10R80 Transmission Solenoid Strategy Programming with FORSCAN

If you’ve ever loaded a tune and gotten P163F dtc code it means the transmission solenoid info was corrupted for your 10R80 or 6R80 transmission. It can happen on your Mustang or F150 sometimes if the data gets interrupted during the flash or is missing in the tune. This happened to me on a Saturday night while loading my E85 tune. YOU DO NOT need to go to the dealer to have them reflash it. You CAN use forscan to flash or reprogram the solenoid ID back into the TCM. Use at your own discretion. I am not responsible for any damage you may do to your vehicle.

You’ll need:

A laptop with windows

Forscan



The transmission solenoid id number from your transmission.

This is on a 2019 F150 5.0 4x4 with a whipple tuned by OZ Tuning. Should be the same for any Ford vehicle that uses the 10R80. I know the video is a bit choppy but I was in a rush to get to work.

Had this happen when I loaded my E85 tune HPtuners .. 2020 Mustang GT 10R80 trans. strange thing is the tune loaded fine but when I started the car it threw the P163F code ( transmission ID block corrupt)

Thank you for this info... My 20 Ranger was stuck in 3rd gear because of an 87 tune uodate option I'd block code for tranny.... Would of took 2 weeks to get in at any Ford, even SCT tried restoring stock tune ...same problem...they said take it in!! Next day ForScan...Amazon....a little do. dillegence to get a picture of strategy code...back to normal..tune back in!!
