Cary was able to get access to these two new games. He is buying one of them too! Here are his initial thoughts regarding the short time he had on each.

JJP pins are really made for the home. Can’t go by 2-3 games. I thought the same with Pirates bought at MSRP 4yrs ago . Game never gets old. Godfather could be the next pirates

Foo fighters pro I'm sure a dead post can be added if mod community makes a kit. Just connect wires to the outlane light to trigger dead post then after ball rolls past and light goes out then deadpost will reset within 5 seconds. Or order post genie from Pinball Life and add a dead post, it'll be fixed but at least it's there. If stern was smart they'll sell an addon kit before mod community sells it.

As a longtime pinball collector, I've learned that theme can be an overrated factor: no great playfield design was ever ruined by the wrong theme (of course SALES were, 'cause the wrong theme could fail to attract casual players in the arcades)... I'm pretty sure that collectors who didn't buy a Shadow 'cause "the theme sucks" - and I knew a lot of them - now regret their decision! Anyway, I bet many whitewoods were created before the designer had any idea of what the theme would eventually be, so a huge part of a game is completely independent from the license. Still, some movies can be very inspiring for designers, especially for software and rules, and I don't think the Godfather is a good license... it seems that as a game designer you'd have to fight against the serious nature of the movie to make something lighthearted and fun. The enjoyment of the original movie it's based on has also no factor whatsoever: I absolutely adore the Godfather, and what I've seen bored me to tears; on the other hand, I don't like Pulp Fiction very much, and I'm very intrigued by Mark Ritchie's comeback.

It looks like their just a plate covering the hole on the Pro so I’m wondering if a mod can be added

I really wish that we could combine the design geniuses at Stern with the aesthetics of JJP. The JJPs are beautiful but not fun to play. Sterns are awesome to play but cheap looking.

I played it last week and had the EXACT same problem with both the need to keep shooting up the middle and forgetting about the upper flipper. I lost every ball from either that or the center spinning disc shooting it down the middle at mach speeds. Probably a learning curve but I was frustrated to say the least

Have you tried Pulp Fiction? The LE topper looks awesome from the video.

GF light show looks like Rainbow Brite and I like how they use kazoo, slide whistle and chime sounds like a real gangster would use! I remember all of that stuff from the movie!

Same thing on Pirates in regards to that upper flipper and no flip equals a drain. You'll get used to it... I see it everytime with new players on potc jjp. 😂

Thank you for the update. I'm feeling somewhat discouraged about my pending Godfather CE. Maybe JJP will be tweaking the code over the next month or two. No clue when it's supposed to ship.

I'm still optimistic about my Pulp Fiction LE. Hope that arrives soon.

I cannot wait to play one at TPF and decide if I’m going to purchase. Right ramp to me, looks like pteranodon ramp in Jurassic Park.? Also can be a little tough. Is that an accurate comparison?

To help with your right ramp just imagine you’re playing rush hitting the right ramp

Looking forward to playing it at TPF. Really excited to try Pulp.

Disappointing to hear about TGF. That you have to use that upper flipper EVERY time the ball returns from that lane isn't my cup of tea. In fact I hate that. Let me decide if I want to flip it there or let it drop to the bottom flippers. A shame it's an auto-drain. I could see how one would keep shooting to the middle like that.. it seems that bad guy target is always lit and asking to be shot. But this wouldn't be the first game like that.. Attack From Mars? Yea, but Mars had other things you had to do.. and so does TGF. I'm looking forward to playing it and trying to work through the modes.

Biggest problem with band theme pinball machines is you can never hear the music 😠
