The newborn from Alien Reserection had more humanity than the offspring. The offspring was the embdiment of a demon.

The offspring is more akin to an Engineer than a human as evidenced by the pale white skin, black eyeballs, and extreme height. A traditional, human spawned Xenomorph is between 7 and 8ft tall. The Offspring is taller than that. It's approximately twice as tall as Rain. That thing is AT LEAST 10ft tall.

In the theater during the scene in Alien Romulus when we see the footprints getting bigger and bigger in the cargo hold I turned to my wife and whispered “they just grow up so fast these days” and she shushed me.
