We took an AmaWaterways cruise in December 2019. It was a Christmas Markets cruise on the Rhine, and it was fantastic! The views of the castles were beautiful, and drinking the gluewein while shopping in the charming towns was wonderful, even though it was in winter. A Christmas cruise on the Danube with AmaWaterways is on my bucket list. Enjoy your cruise!

We have done seven Viking cruises and we found them good value for money. Truck and Croisi are more costly

If you go a day early the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz is interesting (a skip away with the 9€ ticket). Other than one of the Gutenberg Bibles they have several early print books. Text books and Travel Guides were popular first printed books, the world was thirsty for knowledge and adventure :)

Looks like a nice cruise! I just had an epiphany though: DIY rivercruising! You can hire a boat on a canal or river in, for example, France and toodle along for a week, passing the world, having fun in locks, and in some places tunnels. I have done it a couple of times with my family, once in England, twice in France. It's really rather nice....

I so understand your feelings with Viking! I finally thought hey I can actually save on airfare and go on a cruise from right here in MN…..then I looked at the price and just laughed! Excited to see the River cruise you’re going on! Definitely a bucket list item!!

Please start a face book group or other social media group - for a Committee for Morgan Approved Bathrooms and Bathroom doors (a place to share approved or not approved hotel bathrooms). I am now obsessed when I travel with how how Morgan approved the bathroom and bathroom door are....
