Azure Hybrid Benefit - Dual-use Rights

If your Windows Server licenses include Software Assurance (SA) or are on a subscription, you can leverage them in Azure, potentially saving up to 80% on licensing costs. Windows Server Standard with SA or a subscription can be used either on-premises or in Azure, while Windows Server Datacenter licenses can be used simultaneously in both environments.

If you already have these licenses and use them in your own data centre, simply check the box in Azure indicating "I'm using my own license" to start saving immediately.

Note that while Windows Server Datacenter has unlimited dual-use rights, Windows Server Standard has a dual-use right for 180 days only, and only when migrating to Azure. After 180 days, you must decide whether to keep the licenses on-premises and pay as you go in Azure, or remove the on-premises machines and fully transfer the licenses to Azure.
