The NASA Crawler Transporter is now available. If you haven't guessed it before, this $144 million crawler transporter was constructed by NASA in the 1960s by adapting mining equipment. Its purpose is to deliver rockets to their launch pads. It weights 3,300 tons, making it the world's heaviest vehicle that runs on its own power. That weighs the equivalent of 15 Statues of Liberty. It is 8 meters high, 40 meters long, and 35 meters broad. Essentially, an infield for a major league baseball can be built on top of it. Its greatest speed when unloaded is an astounding 3.2 kilometers per hour, yet even though it can carry an 18 million pound rocket, it only moves at a pace of about 1.6 kilometers per hour. On opposing sides, it contains two operator cabins.
