I’m not a fisherman, but I always hear from fisherman that you’re supposed to release lobsters that are above a certain weight/length because they’re older and the meat isn’t as good. The older ones are also used to replenish their population, so that we don’t eat them into extinction.

I tried 1lb lobster a year ago. We're a rhode island family that's also Hispanic so we like spicy foods and lobster, like, a lot. That 1lb lobster was so good

I see them all the time but I live in maine so it's not that uncommon however it's kind of frowned upon to eat big lobsters like that here!

not only have I seen one, I used to work in a seafood restaurant that served lobsters 3LBs+ with a garlic, rosemary and blood orange reduction dipping sauce and some beautiful black garlic butter stuffed into the claws what we steamed them :)
