It's not that I wasted those years,
it's just that they are all gone now,

I walk down Micklegate,
pacing the concrete with repetitive footsteps.
This nostalgia tints my cheeks,
my past looks back on me
and this retrospective loneliness won’t let me be.
The solitude that I'll find in the west
can't make me go astray.
