If you're lucky enough, you could find an abandoned village and get string to make bundles. If you're a monster, you could find a normal village and get string anyways

I played nomadically for 7 hours using bundles, and I managed to collect all kinds of things from all over the world without crafting a single chest. When I finally settled down, I had all the trees, flowers, and other materials I would want so that I wouldn't need to explore for those again.

In fact, I could have continued to play nomadically indefinitely.

Many people dont get it. Shulkers are the car trunk, bundles are the bug-out bag. It's deliberately not a solution for mass storage since cold storage isn't the problem, the amount of inventoy slots spent in 10/64 of a stack is the problem. Now, when are they gonna make potions and filled buckets stackable...

The bundle also makes resource storage blocks much more useful: If you gathered 30 diamonds, it didn't make sense to craft 3 diamond blocks, as they'd fill even more inventory slots. But with bundles, you can actually reduce 30 diamonds down to 6 items inside the bundle. Same for every compressible resource.

Bundles have been a blessing on Trail Ruins. Your inventory is gonna quickly fill up with all the unique artifacts found in suspicious gravel/sand, so having one bundle for the rarity items (armor trims, pottery shards, minerals) and another for the artifacts (glass panes, candles, random seeds and whatnot), you have to travel a lot less between the ruins and your small station outside.
So far, one ruin can yield about one and a half bundle's worth of unique items, which would be a lot more bothersome to deal with without using them.

The most useful use for a bundle Ive found is to keep one in you inventory as a "Tool belt" with ender chest, crafting table, stonecutter, trapdoor, door, anvil -- basically any stackable block that may be useful anywhere

I feel they really shine in the early game. Those few saplings you want to keep, in the bundle. The golden apple you found, bundle. Very useful for adventuring aswell.

And remember: Every item that can be blockified and de-blockified (coal, iron, gold, etc) will save you a ton of space in each bundle if you turn them into blocks before storing them in the bundle if you don't plan on using them in the immediate future. If you're using silk touch on every ore it isn't as much of a help, though.

A much better use for the bundle is to store stackable items with unique NBT like filled maps and renamed items into a single slot. Usually Filled Maps can't be stacked with another map (Unless it's a duplicate of that map) but with a bundle you can bring multiple maps of different areas with you. This is especially useful for map art.

So the total amount of carryable material didn't change, just the flexibility. Now if you need 13 diorite it isn't using a whole slot. It's actually a genius upgrade because it makes early game MUCH less painful but it doesn't give a ton of extra power to endgame characters.

For the brewing kit, add a hopper. That way you can craft a potion automatically by just putting the ingredients in order instead of needing to manually interact multiple times.

I keep a bundle with all the saplings, and two with various plants one can bonemeal in my gardening shulker box. It gives access to a very large amount of blocks since I always keep a stack of bone blocks in the box.

For advanced building you can also keep a shulker box of bundles of different block mixes that go well together to plan a build. That way you can have a good idea of what blocks to bring for each building. A single shulker box becomes 27 building pallet mixes that you can color code by coloring the bundles, letting you experiment with what looks nice with what amounts to almost having access to a creative menu of all your favorite building materials. Then you can go and retrieve the blocks you have decided to build with.

In my inventory I keep a bundle with a few ender chests, a compass, a clock, a few maps (renamed so I know which is which), a stonecutter and often some situational things like a few leads for moving mobs around. I always keep ender chests on me anyway, so may as well shove them in a bundle and combine them with more items.

For some redstone builds it is really easy to pack more or less everything you need in a bundle. Etho clock bundles? Flying machine bundles? Ender pearl stasis bundles? Chunk loading portal bundle? Especially if you follow tutorials that show what items you'll need. Aside from the most universal redstone stuff having a few bundles in a redstone shulker box is awesome. Blocks where a stack is often a bit overkill. All the rails can go in a bundle. Probably having both a stack of droppers and dispensers at hand is too much for most situations. All the interactive lighting components can go in a bundle. You get the idea.

With the way that you can compress items with bundles it is easier to bring everything you could need for most situations shulker boxes, boosted by the inclusion of a few bundles, inside an ender chest, and still have plenty of inventory to spare. I definitely think a lot of people haven't given bundles enough consideration.

6:29 This part is actually not true. To switch the slots with a bundle bag you simply have to right click on the item, and it will switch the item just the same as if you are left clicking other items to switch

I made my first bundle a week or two ago and today I got an ender chest and shulker boxes! I have a lot to learn.

Dang yeah this is gonna change the game for my redstone, flowers/dyes, pottery, mob drops, and brewing.
I use shulkers as my "overflow inventory", but you have to place it to access it, exposing your items to danger. Bundle is more quick and convenient

I love that you recorded this on the SMP. It creates a nice background and highlights some of the things you can see and do there.
