Fortnite Private Alpha Test Gameplay

I finally managed to get an alpha build of fortnite running! It wasn’t that easy. I recorded some gameplay for you to see.

This builds version is OT6 (Online-Test 6) and was private and invite only at that time.

Fortnite left the early access phase in 2020, which means that the full development cycle to full release can be considered to be 9 years. There are likely several reasons why it took this long, but if I have to assume, I suppose they changed the art and the flow of the game, and probably faced technical difficulties. The first trailer shows a much darker theme while this build is much more casual and cartoonish.

I've always had an interest in the early builds of fortnite, and it's great to see people restoring them to be playable again! I remember when I first got my hands on this build and looked through all the maps with the free camera, especially the map in this video.

I always wonder what save the world could’ve been like if they didn’t abandon the story. They said they were complete with it, but it obviously wasn’t.

This actually looks just as good as the game will look in chapter 5. The lighting is extremely good and the coloring and effects are very well made, which makes up for the less detailed models and less advance animations. There’s a charm to it that modern Fortnite will never have.

I know the music at the start is from the UE3 trailer, but good god does it make this just feel even more surreal and nostalgic, almost like something from an alternate timeline where Save the World continued development into a truly atmospheric game rather than being side-stepped by BR... forgive the blatant pun, but it just feels unreal.

I started fortnite before the battle royale, so this is cool to see and reflect on how the game was during development.

it's wild how most of us who grew up with call of duty and such and probably trashed on this game when it came out feel so nostalgic about it now. we've all been affected by it and had absolutely no clue how giant it would become

man i really wish they would'v ekept something similar to this, save the world is cool and all but it's not technically open world or sandbox ish. It's such a cool concept and i think they could've done so much better than save the world.

This has just the same vibe Battle royale season 1 and 2 had. I love how this is cartoony and funny but still somewhere serious and even scary. i miss those times man

If they kept those graphics, old effects when breaking something and sounds when breaking diffrent props in 2023, it would be much more fun to play right now. I know those graphics and some of the sounds are still in STW but not everything and neither is in BR anymore only some sounds
