Colnago introduces the C68 Rim Brake, a carbon road bike with rim brakes. It is the latest addition to the C series.

The C68 Rim Brake shares the design and geometry of the C68 Road, but differs in its braking system: the traditional rim brakes.

Being part of the C68 family, the C68 Rim Brake is also a modular frame, entirely built in Italy, hand-assembled in Cambiago using the handcrafted process of the C series.

Electronic shifting only, I think. Why go through all the trouble and not make the frame so it can use either electronic or mechanical shifting. Why, Colnago, WHY?

I think rim brake maybe best to stick with aluminium rim. Tried a carbon rim brake wheelset, not only it has terrible braking when it’s wet, but the braking surface is easily damaged.

Pro většinu populace jsou V-brzdy postačující. Lépe brzdí než brzdové čelisti. Proto si nemůžu koupit fitness kolo od Canyon a jiných značek, protože na každém májí kotouče a o ty já nestojím a o jednopřevodník už vůbec ne. Mít vzadu kazetu těžší než 250g je šílenost. To fakt nechci. To je tak dobré akorát na jízdu z kopce, kde to slouží jako setrvačník.

Why would Colnago make this electronic groupset only? If I could put super record mechanical on this, it would be perfect 👌 rim + electronic is just silly. May as well be on disc brakes if it’s modernity that one is looking for. And I ride disc brakes. They are better when set up properly. But that’s not the point of this bike.

I was a member of the rim brake defense force, but when you realise the tire width disc brake can accomodate and where disc groupset as landed you forces to just give up and admit that disc is by far superior.

Non vi sembra è un autentico controsenso aver creato un telaio di questo livello per freni rim, ma che è compatibile soltanto con gruppi elettronici?

A mio avviso SI, fermo restando che il controsenso maggiore è nel prezzo del kit telaio (improponibile), il che fa di questo C68 un prodotto di nicchia destinato ad un solo pubblico di nicchia
