Really sat down and started watching all your mechanical vent videos and practice tmc questions…all I can say is you deserve hundreds of thousands more subscribers. Thank you for making me feel like I’m smart enough to understand.

I have central sleep apnea, COPD and respiratory failure type 2.
I spend 14 to 15 hours of a 24 hour day on Non Invasive Ventilation (VPAP) and I have just been cleared to start an minimum of 15 hours of 24 on a low level of oxygen because I get quite badly hypoxic on and off through the day (my normal is 88 to 92 % but I often hang in the high 70s to low 80s % and can go as low as 35%. It has taken a lot of time to increase the pressure on my ventilator, increasing the hours I’m on it trying to pull down my CO2 and struggling for any significant improved until last week. I had pulled my CO2 down a tiny bit but was still high and I really need to be on oxygen so we did a half hour trial and rechecked my blood gasses my CO2 had only raised a small amount so we went for the next past of the trial, a half hour on my ventilator with oxygen also going through. We we supper shocked and exited when my CO2 came back normal!
I’m now waiting to be set up with my home oxygen machines and all the other oxygen needs I will have so I can still spend time outside home. I have other conditions so I am in a power chair and my ability to do much is very limited and I do have to spend all that time on a ventilator so… I’m not going to be burning through out of home cylinders lol!

Can you consider making a video on the circumstances to do an ABG vs a VBG? I get into this a lot with providers who order ABG's unnecessarily when a VBG would suffice. Thanks!

Hey Joe! Hope all is well! I finally got my license approved in Florida and got a job! Many thanks to you and your videos!! Couldn’t have done it without you! I was just wondering if you had the equipment available to do equipment introductions and setups? I know you teach so maybe you could do a few hands on videos from your classroom. Thanks again for everything!!!

Do you have any videos on obtaining other credentials such as PFT or Neonates? Or any suggested resources for preparing for these exams offered by the NBRC?
