It is always popular but costly. Now, I will show you how to build it for cheap. I used cedar fence pickets left over from a fence build for this door. You can buy them for $2.87 for a 4-inch width or $4.65 each for a 6-inch width.

And a Black Gate pulls for $4, and liquid nails for the glue up.

Enjoy and check out additional links to Amazon.

You built it the right way... with a young strong man to help you move it around! I was expecting you to take a drink once in a while during the build... that’s the way I do it as long as there are no big spinning blades involved in the build.

Hi, I'm planning of making a barn door for the very first time.
It's going to be install between my bedroom and master bath. 48 inches wide opening. I never thought of adding plywood between the panels. I also noticed you didn't make a frame. How thick is your door? I bet the door was heavy. Will it work if i buy panels with grooves. Home depot has them for $6 per panels. your door turned out great! Thanks

Thanks for your video - I noticed you have the same issue I had with the light switch being on the wall behind the door when you slide it open. I ended up moving the switch to the other wall. Was this an issue for you? Was there a reason you didn't put any finish or stain on the cedar? One other question - what kind of handle did you use for the other side of the door- never seen this addressed in any barn door build videos. Nice work - you made it look easy which means you know what you're doing.
